Fear is a very powerful emotion. It often underlies our anger. Fear can also manifest as any number of other strong emotions or attitudes. Yet, so often fears are not based on reality but on faulty core beliefs, shame messages and denial or distortion. How do we recognize those harmful fears? How do we change them? In this episode, I give an introduction and a mental framework for thinking about fear, introduce the fear cycle and give strategies for validating (healing) our own fears and the fears of others. Healing fears is a challenging, validating and beautiful process, and every one of us can do it. Let the fear-conquering begin!
