Hosted by Jodi Hildebrandt.
This week is a follow-on discussion to last week’s episode abut fear. This week, I introduce the fear cycle, which is the chain of fear-based (trauma- and/or shame-based) responses to experiences: fear leads to obsession, which leads to control, which leads to release, which leads to pain & shame, which sets us up to experience more fear.
I also introduce the idea of “triggers.” I talk about how to get out of the fear cycle by becoming curious about our triggers, even (especially!) though they are very uncomfortable. Triggers give us specific, powerful information about ourselves, and they’ll lead us right into our fears and shame (messages from The Voice), so we can heal the traumas that caused our fears! Understanding your triggers gives you great peace and power. How exciting!
