Compassion

Compassion is an unselfish concern for another person.  Compassion desires only to give, and not to receive or “get” from another.  When I feel compassion for myself or for another person, I validate them, I witness their pain, I love them, and I desire their ultimate well-being.

Conversely, when I am in drama, selfishness, shame or co-dependency, I am not able to feel compassion, because I am concerned and occupied only with myself.  Therefore, the question, “am I feeling compassion right now?” is a powerful personal assessment tool, to tell you if you are living in Truth or in deception (drama, co-dependency, etc.).  As any of us becomes aware of our deceptions and faulty perceptions, we are able to change them and begin living in compassion for self and others.
