Objectification

Objectification is a form of lusting.  When I objectify, I “turn” a person into (perceive them as) an object or “thing” which is there for me to gratify or titillate myself with, or to kick around and use.  Physical objectification includes sexual or physical lusting, noticing and fixating on body parts, etc.  Other types of objectification include using a person as a “dumping ground” for my emotions, being judgmental, thinking or treating someone as though they are a “stepping stone,” inept, useless, a tool, etc.  Objectifying includes any though or behavior which dehumanizes another person by failing to see them in their full authenticity.
